In the middle of the campaign as part of Operation Yellow Pieces, Didier Deschamps was treated to a surprising question from Brigitte Macron.
He certainly wasn’t expecting that one. While in Reims last Friday to visit the University Hospital, as part of a Yellow Pieces operation of which he is the sponsor, Didier Deschamps was asked a funny question by Brigitte Macron. The wife of the President of the Republic wanted to talk football with the coach of the France team, asking him a question which left him between amazement and a fit of laughter.
The scene was reported by Champagne.fm of which the journalist happens to be at the origin, quite unintentionally, of what was to follow. The latter first questioned Didier Deschamps about Stade de Reims. Response from the coach: “ I don’t have a player in Reims, but I look at the team like all the other French and foreign clubs. This is very good what is happening here. » Next to him, Brigitte Macron then intervened in the conversation. Having visibly revised part of her files before arriving in the Champagne city, the First Lady repeated: “ There is a Japanese who plays very well in Reims. What’s his name again? »
Laugh burst
When the journalist whispered the answer, Brigitte Macron continued, speaking to Didier Deschamps. “ Yes, Ito that’s it. He is very good. We need the coach in the team Didier. Why don’t you take it? » Intentional humor or not on the part of his interlocutor, Didier Deschamps could not hide his amazement and burst out laughing while responding: “ Well, because he’s Japanese. »
