Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi has made changes to his starting XI for the opposition against Mauritania.
The selection of Algeria which will appear this Tuesday for its duel against Mauritania risks not resembling the one which challenged Burkina Faso (2-2). Djamel Belmadi plans multiple changes to his starting lineup.
Belmadi gives Aouar a chance
Among his strong choices, there is the tenure of Houssem Aouar. The former Lyon player will be lined up for 1e entry times. He is taking advantage of Ismael Bennacer’s injury and Sofiane Feghouli’s poor form.
Note also a change on the left side of the defense. Slightly affected, Rayan Ait-Nouri leaves his place to Ahmed Toubai. In the middle, Ramy Bensebaini, suspended, is relieved by Mohamed Tougai.
Algeria’s attack remains unchanged
Up front, it’s a great classic. Despite his disappointing performance, Riyad Mahrez retains the confidence of his coach. Youcef Belaili is sent back to the opposite side, while Baghdad Bounedjah, scorer of three goals, remains untouchable up front.
After Monday evening’s results in the group stage, Algeria can settle for a draw against Mauritania to see the next round. But, to have a chance of finishing 1st, the Fennecs must absolutely win.
Algeria starting lineup
Mandrea; Touba, Tougai, Mandi, Atal; Bennacer, Bentaleb, Aouar; Belaili, Mahrez, Bounedjah.
