One of the executives of AS Roma wanted to clear José Mourinho after his departure from the eternal city.
Roma striker Stephan El Shaarawy sought to defend his former manager José Mourinho after the victory against Hellas Verona.
Mourinho defended by his former player
The success achieved was the first for new coach Daniele de Rossi. However, “the Pharaoh” has not forgotten the Special One. And he sought to recall some truths about himself. “Unfortunately for him, it was the manager who took the blame, but the responsibility must be shared by all of us, players, staff and club. We can do more.”
El Shaarawy also highlighted the positive results of the Portuguese coach: “We have never lost our unity over the years. We also had some wonderful times, reaching two European finals. Just as we were united in those moments, we were also united when things weren’t going well.”
The former Monegasque then promised that he and his teammates will do everything to revive La Louve. “The disappointment of the fans is understandable given the times we are going through and the dismissal of Mourinho, but it was essential that we remained united. We have always been united and every time we entered the pitch it was to do our best for Roma. It’s been a difficult time, but we all want to do what’s best for Roma.”
Free from any commitment now, Mourinho has no shortage of requests. Some announce it in Naples, while other rumors suggest a rapprochement with FC Barcelona.
