It was very hot this Sunday in San Pédro for Morocco-Democratic Republic of Congo. And after the draw between two teams (1-1), tensions broke out on the pitch at the final whistle. The players and staff from two camps met on the field for a heated explanation of the text, to say the least.

In the images of the corridor leading to the locker room, we can even see Youssef En-Nesyri rushing to do battle with Congolese captain Chancel Mbemba. The Sevilla striker was held back by his goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, who held on to his jersey to prevent him from going too far.

On the pitch, Walid Regragui also had a tense exchange with Mbemba at the end of the match. But at a press conference, the Moroccan coach had the good taste to calm things down. “I have nothing to say about that. I have a lot of respect for Mbemba. Maybe it was the adrenaline that made him respond like that. There’s no problem. I regret because we did not give a good image neither to us nor to the DRC”commented Regragui, in comments reported by journalist Hanif Ben Berkane.
