Chelsea legend John Terry has asked Todd Boehly to give Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino time to turn Chelsea around.
Chelsea have had two poor seasons under Todd Boehly, despite the American spending over £1 billion on transfers. Pochettino was recruited to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023 to guide the young, still disjointed Blues team from mid-table mediocrity to the Premier League elite. However, the Argentine has struggled to get results even when playing well, and the Blues sit ninth in the table.
John Terry intervenes
Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards, Terry said: “Unfortunately, Chelsea are a bit off base at the moment. You have to give the manager time, Poch is a great manager, I saw him work every day. We have a young squad of players, but we are far from Man City and Liverpool at the moment. »
Chelsea are not only far from Manchester City and Liverpool, but also from Aston Villa and West Ham. The Blues’ dreadful 2023 has given little cause for optimism that the team will return to the Champions League any time soon. However, Pochettino manages to get the most out of his young squad, with Cole Palmer particularly standing out. Perhaps patience will be a virtue for Chelsea.
