After “losing” the title of The Best Fifa Player of the Year to Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland was logically elected Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards organized in Dubai.

The absence of Erling Haaland at The Best Fifa Football Awards last Monday in London was not insignificant. The Norwegian striker from Manchester City snubbed the event while it was Lionel Messi (who also did not come) who was voted The Best Fifa Player of the Year to everyone’s surprise. Ronaldo was highlighted with trophies for Fans’ Player of the Year, Best Player in the Middle East and the Maradona Award for Top Scorer of the Year. Lionel Messi got nothing.
