Having passed through PSG between 2017 and 2018, Gonçalo Guedes has not really managed to establish himself in the clubs where he plays. Here he is going to be loaned to Villarreal.

Revealed at Benfica Lisbon, Gonçalo Guedes was spotted by Paris Saint-Germain who offered his services in 2017 for a sum of thirty million euros. A failure in terms of recruitment since the Portuguese will only play thirteen matches in six months of presence under the Parisian colors. Loaned without purchase option to Valence CF in the summer of 2017, he returned to Paris a year later before being definitively sold to Valence. He scored thirty goals in 140 matches over the next four years, then he left for Wolverhampton where he did not win. Loaned to Benfica since January 2023, he will be loaned again, but to Villarreal.

His year in his training club was not transcendent since he only participated in twenty-nine matches, scoring only two small goals. He therefore chose to help Villarreal avoid relegation. The Spanish club made the player’s arrival official this Friday, through a press release. “ Villarreal CF have agreed a loan deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC for Gonçalo Guedes, who will play for the club until the end of the 23-24 season. (…) Guedes will wear number 9 »

In the Spanish championship standings, Villarreal currently occupies a sad fifteenth place and is only four points ahead of the first club located in the red zone, Cadiz CF.
