The Tanzania coach received an eight-match suspension for his comments made towards the Morocco team.

There Tanzania will have to do without his coach for the rest of the African Cup of Nations. After only one day, it was a small clap of thunder that struck the Taifa Starsor rather their trainer Adel Amrouche. Who had made accusatory remarks towards Morocco after his team’s defeat against the Atlas Lions (0-3) on the first day.

Eight match suspension

“The Moroccan Federation is a proven power in the world of African football. Moreover, during the last match against Morocco, they forced us to play in the evening when we wanted to play in the early afternoon. Currently, it is Morocco that manages African football, they also choose their referees and we remain simple spectators”he said on Wednesday after his team’s defeat.

The sanction did not drag on since it fell this Friday, and CAF did not take half measures since the Algerian technician was suspended for eight matches. “The Confederation of African Football has announced an eight-match suspension against the coach of the national team, Adel Amrouche. The sanction was pronounced yesterday (this Thursday) by the CAN disciplinary committee. The Moroccan Federation complained to the coach for his statements according to which Morocco influences CAF in the organization of matches with the referees.we can read in a press release published by the Tanzanian federation.

And that’s not all. In the rest of its press release, it also announces that Amrouche has been suspended from his position as head coach and replaced by Juma Mgunda on an interim basis. “In another step, the Executive Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation has suspended coach Adel Amrouche. Following this decision, Hemed Morocco was appointed interim coach. He will be assisted by Juma Mgunda”added the Federation.
