Officially appointed as head of AS Roma, the former Italian international, Daniele De Rossi, took over from José Mourinho, dismissed this morning by the Roman management. Having passed through one and only bench (SPAL) in his young coaching career, the Giallorossi legend returns to his favorite club where he played from 2000 to 2019, thus displaying a tally of 616 matches played for 63 goals scored and 45 assists delivered. Italian vice-champion nine times with Roma, Daniele De Rossi did not hide his emotion but also his determination, when he was questioned upon his arrival at the Louve training center:
“I would like to thank the Friedkin family for entrusting me with responsibility for the technical direction of Roma: for my part I know no other path than that of application, daily sacrifice and the need to give everything what I have inside to face the challenges that await us between now and the end of the season. The emotion of being able to sit on our bench is indescribable, everyone knows what Rome means to me, but the work that awaits us all has already taken over. We have neither time nor choice: being competitive, fighting for our goals and trying to achieve them are the only priorities that my staff and I have given ourselves.”he explained.
