A few days ago, comments about Neymar’s transfer to PSG caused a scandal. The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, who was then Minister of Public Accounts, would have helped the capital club not to pay several million euros in taxes on the Brazilian’s transfer. Statements which were not to the taste of the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. Present at the Olympic Village as part of a visit, Gérald Darmanin spoke about this controversy and preferred to remain evasive about his involvement in this transfer.

“I am very happy that football or rugby players come to our territory and pay a lot of taxes and charge a lot of revenue taxes. If Neymar had not come, no taxes would have been paid, no football shirts would have been sold in his name and no social security contributions would have been collected.replied Gérald Darmanin.
