Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has reacted angrily to ongoing speculation surrounding Kylian Mbappé, calling the rumors “lies”.
The question arises as to how long the world champion striker will stay at the Parc des Princes, as his contract comes to an end and he will be free from any commitment. Real Madrid have long been interested in the France international and have reportedly stepped up their efforts to secure his signature in 2024.
PSG are aware of the rumors but continue to turn a deaf ear, as they have not lost hope of tying Mbappé to a new contract. He does not want to dwell on the links with Real and prefers to focus on what the top scorer in the club’s history brings to the pitch.
Parisian coach Luis Enrique is starting to have enough, as he declared to Amazon Prime Video Sport, when asked if PSG were becoming “un little tired and angry » because of the endless stories about Mbappé: “ Do you know how many years I spent in the elite of European football? Well, five at Madrid, eight at Barcelona as a player. As a coach I spent six years at Barcelona, Roma and Celta Vigo. I played for Sporting Gijon. I was born in a locker room where there are always comments from one person, from another, a rumor, a lie, and a lie is made. I’m so used to it that I don’t care. »
Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the Frenchman, with no definitive decision on his future having been made yet, but there remains a chance the prolific 25-year-old opts to stay in the area comfort of his current club beyond the summer of 2024.
