The famous journalist from L’Equipe was very critical of Paris SG coach Luis Enrique.

Paris dominated Lens on Sunday evening in the championship (2-0). But it was an unremarkable success for the French champions. While they played in numerical superiority for more than a half, the performance provided was rather insufficient on their part. However, after the game, Luis Enrique said he was happy with what they showed from the 1e at the 90e minute.

Preferential treatment for Luis Enrique?

The Spanish coach’s analysis did not please Vincent Duluc, the eminent journalist from L’Equipe. During the show L’Équipe du Soir, the latter strongly criticized him: “He (Luis Enrique, editor’s note) talks about a match that we didn’t see. This isn’t the first time. And he is not the first coach to do so. It’s part of his job, but sometimes it’s a little annoying. The speech counts more than the game sometimes.”

Duluc also felt that French observers are too lenient with Luis Enrique, while they were not necessarily so with his predecessors. “If his name is not Luis Enrique, we say to ourselves that nothing is happening. He manages to conceptualize everything,” he remarked.

Former coach Raymond Domenech, always quick to hit on foreign coaches, also felt that PSG was not progressing with the Asturian technician at his helm. “They (the PSG players, editor’s note) don’t really know what they want to do and how they want to do it, he judged. There is a form of incomprehension in their game. It is not relaxation.”
