FC Barcelona are determined to recruit a high-level center this summer, since they were unable to do so when Sergio Busquets left at the end of last season.
However, due to his ongoing financial problems, it will be very difficult to pay a lot for anyone. The Catalans could therefore carry out an exchange, and their target would be Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), long admired in the Blaugrana offices. El Nacional claims Barcelona are ready to offer Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen and Raphinha in a deal.
These three players would likely be very useful to Newcastle, given that they occupy positions where quality reinforcements are needed (central defender and right winger). In the case of Christensen and Raphinha, both will apparently be available for a transfer this summer, and so it is no surprise that they would be included in a swap, although Koundé would be a surprise.
Ultimately, the ball is in Newcastle’s court. Indeed, Newcastle are also facing FFP problems and therefore only want Guimaraes on a cash basis, which would put FC Barcelona out of the running for the moment. This is where PSG can make the difference…
