Estevao Willian, more commonly known as Messinho. If this name does not yet really speak to European observers, the 16-year-old Brazilian nugget who currently plays for Palmeiras is, however, today considered one of the most promising talents of his generation. Already followed by the biggest clubs (PSG, Barça, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea), the native of Franca is therefore logically shaking up the transfer market. Left-handed, 1m76 tall, under contract until June 2026 and with 4 goals in 3 small Copinha matches since the start of 2024, the one who is currently preparing for the Olympic qualifiers with the Seleçao U23 is driving them all crazy.

With this in mind, we recently told you that FC Barcelona seemed to have a real head start in this heated issue, particularly against PSG, who have never hidden their interest in the young right winger. Yes but now, according to the latest information from the Spanish press, the Palmeiras nugget could ultimately not join either of these two clubs. The reason ? Sport asserts, in today’s edition, that Chelsea are on the verge of winning, by aligning themselves with the 60 million euros of the release clause.

Chelsea wants to pay the clause!

The media also specifies that PSG, which considered the operation too costly, would now be out of the running while Barça will not, for its part, be able to align with an operation which could even reach 75 million euros. depending on the commissions. Sport goes even further by affirming that the Spanish champion has never taken the slightest step to sign the player and would think in the short term and in particular the arrival of a pivot, hoped for this winter or this summer. Distrust, however, since at the same time Mundo Deportivo explains that despite the strong interest from London, the main interested party would still swear by Barça.

One thing is certain, the fight rages on for Messinho and the Blues seem more determined than ever to complete this operation. With this in mind, an English delegation is currently in São Paulo to settle the matter. For its part, Palmeiras will not give any gifts to the Londoners and does not wish to part with its crack player for less than the €60 million mentioned above. The reason ? The Auriverde team only owns 70% of the player’s rights and would therefore pocket 42 million euros in the event of payment of the termination clause. The remaining 30%, or €18 million, would then go to the Estevao family. After Andrey Santos, Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington, Chelsea further confirms its attraction to the Brazilian market.
