Nice has lost the thread

OGC Nice lost to Stade Rennais this Saturday evening in Brittany (2-0).

Things are seriously complicated for the Gym. Undefeated during the first 13 days of Ligue 1, the Riviera club lost track last December. Over the last five championship rounds, the Aiglons have stumbled three times, against Nantes, Le Havre and… Rennes. So many formations previously confined to the second part of the table.

After an observation round without much relief, the Niçois cracked at the half-hour mark on a penalty conceded by Rosario for an involuntary handball in the penalty area. Bourigeaud then transformed the sentence (1-0, 31e). And the Rennais, thus liberated, to have taken the match into their own hands.

A boon for Paris

In the second half, Kalimuendo was able to secure the break upon returning from the locker room (2-0, 54e). The final blow for an OGCN which according to Dante will have “ lack of aggression this evening “. Still second in the standings, the Gym did not take advantage of Monaco’s misstep against Reims earlier in the day (1-3) to break away; and there is a strong risk of seeing the Parisian leader fly away this Sunday, beyond the five distance lengths observed so far. Rennes for its part remains 10esix points behind Little Europe now.
