Traveling to Monza on Saturday evening, Inter Milan won largely (1-5, 20th day of Serie A) to consolidate their status as leader of the championship.

It is not tonight that Inter Milan will have fallen a second time this season in the league. While it has not lost in Serie A since the sixth day (1-2, against Sassuolo), the Milanese club enjoyed a new success, during a trip to Monza (1- 5, 20th day). Simone Inzaghi’s men did not go into detail and Marcus Thuram, the final scorer of the match, fully participated in the victory.

Lilian Thuram’s son is obviously not the only one to have stood out, side Nerazzurri. It was first of all Hakan Calhanoglu who opened the scoring from the penalty spot (12th) before Lautaro Martinez doubled the score (14th). Opposite, Monza was not varnished with a goal refused on offside for Matteo Pessina (30th). At the break, the scenario predicting an Inter victory seemed already written.

Thuram scores, Pavard was not far away

And it was confirmed a little more at the hour mark, when Hakan Calhanoglu scored a personal double, on a serve from Marcus Thuram (0-3, 60th). The locals then saved the honor with a penalty converted by Matteo Pessina (1-3, 68th), but Inter started again to obtain a penalty scored by Lautaro Martinez, also author of a doubled this evening (1-4, 84th). And to conclude the Milanese spectacle, it was Marcus Thuram who found the target (1-5, 88th).

Benjamin Pavard could also have participated in the offensive celebration, but his on-target header was diverted very nicely by Alessandro Sorrentino (66th). Whatever the case, this success allows the Serie A leader to temporarily increase its lead over Juventus, which it now leads by five points. Monza remains eleventh.
