During his time at PSG, Christophe Galtier did not enjoy very high esteem from his players.
Christophe Galtier only stayed one season on the PSG bench. Last summer, he had to give up his apron and give his place to Luis Enrique. The Ile-de-France management wanted to start a new cycle. This was the excuse given for his dismissal. But, in truth, there may have been other reasons for this rearrangement.

“Galette” perhaps did not have the full support of his locker room. Nor the esteem that his role must exude. Not having had a visit from a Carlo Ancelotti, a Thomas Tuchel or even a Laurent Blanc, he was unable to command respect in the locker room. A hypothesis which was reinforced through an anecdote told by Kylian Mbappé.

In an interview given to Prime Video, the Bondyn player recounted the day when he and his teammates asked Galtier to change his training plan. “He made us work on an exercise. After two minutes, we executed it perfectly. He wanted to do it again 2 or 3 times and we told him “hey, don’t you understand? It’s okay, no need to do it again » ». The Parisian coach then just had to comply and move on.
Galtier’s lack of grip is also demonstrated by his inability to get his stars out in front, even when they were not in good shape. Neymar, Mbappé and Messi remained indestructible whatever the circumstances. Despite this takeover, the French technician still assured that he had a very good year in Paris. And he congratulates himself every day on having been able to rub shoulders with these geniuses. The opposite would, however, have been surprising.
