Coach of Algeria, 2019 African champion, Djamel Belmadi is the highest paid coach on the continent. Walid Regragui and Aliou Cissé are paid four times less.

Djamel Belmadi is the highest paid national coach on the continent, he would pocket 208,000 euros per month to reach an annual salary of 2.5 million, as indicated by the Algerian media.
At the head of the Greens since 2018, Belmadi won the 2019 CAN and then signed a new contract until 2026. However, the Algerian federation can terminate the contract of the 47-year-old technician if the objectives set are not achieved, as compete in the final four of this new edition of the CAN, win the 2025 edition (in Morocco) and qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Gasset at more than 100,000
Only Rui Vitoria, the Portuguese coach at the head of Egypt since 2022, enjoys such high emoluments, at 200,000 euros per month. Jean-Louis Gasset, the coach of Ivory Coast, host country of the CAN, negotiated a salary of 105,000 euros per month.
Walid Regragui, the coach of Morocco, a semi-finalist at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, would peak at 60,000 euros per month. Aliou Cissé, at the head of the Teranga Lions of Senegal, would be at 45,000 euros per month, bonus included.
For comparison, Paulo Fonseca is paid 220,000 euros per month, Bruno Genesio and Laurent Blanc approached 250,000 euros with Stade Rennais and OL last year, while Franck Haise is “content” with a salary monthly at 110,000 euros.
