ASSE-Laval live: A big novelty in the composition of the Greens

Getting a good start to the year is the mission of AS Saint-Etienne. Eliminated in the Coupe de France, the Greens have not yet played an official match in 2024 before welcoming Laval this Saturday, at the opening of the 20th day of Ligue 2.

The Foréziens concluded the first phase in seventh place, after a success against Bastia (3-2), and they are six points behind third place, currently held by Grenoble. The team now led by Olivier Dall’Oglio received a significant reinforcement this winter with the arrival of former Brest striker, Irvin Cardona, on loan from Augsburg. The player trained in Monaco is well established for this meeting. Also note the return of Yvann Maçon, whose loan to Tel Aviv was stopped.

Opposite, Laval is one of the very nice surprises of the first part of the season in Ligue 2, even if the Tangos finished the year 2023 less well, with four matches without a victory in the championship, which pushed them back to fourth rank in the ranking. Laval, however, remains on a convincing success in Dieppe (0-4) in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France.
