OM, according to the Italian press, have finalized the arrival of a second winter recruit after the reinforcement of Jean Onana.
The two absolute priorities of Marseillais in this winter transfer window are about to be fulfilled. After the arrival of Jean Onana from Besiktas Istanbul to strengthen the Olympians’ midfield, the hoped-for understudy at the left-back position is preparing to arrive.
If we are to believe the transalpine press, and in particular the transfer window specialist Gianluca Di Marzio, President Longoria has already reached an agreement with Josh Doig to come and compete with Renan Lodi in the left lane of the Marseille defense. The matter is so well underway that OM is counting on a conclusion of the discussions in the coming hours.
Doig, while waiting for Truffert?
The 22-year-old Scot, already called up to his team’s A team but never yet launched into the big international game, has been playing for a year and a half at Hellas Verona (33 Serie A matches played; 2 goals and 3 assists). A contract running until 2028 would await him in Marseille, for a transfer valued at around 5 million euros.

The person concerned could well not be the only defensive reinforcement for OM this winter – L’Equipe reporting a possible – not to say probable – departure of Renan Lodi, just six months after his arrival from ‘Atlético de Madrid for a check for 13 million euros. Coveted in England in particular, the Brazilian international could soon be replaced by Rennais Adrien Truffert.
