Nigeria lost a new offensive cartridge with the announced withdrawal of Umar Sadiq for the African Cup of Nations.
It has now been more than ten years since Nigeria won its last African Cup of Nations. Winners of the competition in 2013, the Super Eagles have since had a little more difficulty, even if they reached the semi-finals and finished third in CAN 2019. As the event organized this year by Ivory Coast is about to begin, the Nigerian selection has learned a bad news. Umar Sadiq will not be there.
The information was made official this Friday and announced on the selection’s social networks. Due to injury, the Real Sociedad striker will not participate in the CAN. He is numerically replaced in the group by Paul Onuachu, who currently plays for the Turkish club Trabzonspor and who currently has nineteen caps.

Third package
Umar Sadiq’s withdrawal nonetheless remains another hard blow for the Super Eagles who already have to do without Victor Boniface, victim of a groin injury and absent for several months, and without their midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
