Paris Saint-Germain intends to strike hard on the transfer market this winter.
After an encouraging but imperfect first part of the season, Paris Saint-Germain has clearly identified its needs. Leader of Ligue 1 and qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, the capital club intends to refine a squad which is gaining strength under the tutelage of the demanding Luis Enrique.
Two positions have been deemed priorities for this transfer window: midfielder and central defense. With this in mind, several high-sounding names began to circulate. For the midfield, the Brazilian from Newcastle Bruno Guimaraes or the German from Bayern Munich Joshua Kimmich would be in the sights of the French champions. But according to Foot Mercato, another important player from the German giant would attract the attention of Parisian leaders.
Paris Saint-Germain would indeed like to secure the services of Dayot Upamecano. The French world vice-champion, who left Valenciennes and France very early in his career, has never played in Ligue 1, like Lucas Hernandez. The defender and his entourage would have been contacted by the club. However, it seems difficult to imagine Bayern opening the door to one of its strong links during the season.
