The Spanish technician no longer hides his skepticism about the ability of these two players to be a viable solution as a center forward.
Last summer, Paris Saint-Germain injected colossal sums to strengthen themselves offensively. The leaders of the capital club have thus poached Gonçalo Ramos to Benfica as part of a loan with a quasi-compulsory purchase option amounting to 80 million euros. Then, in the final hours of the summer transfer window, it was Randal Kolo Muani who joined the Rouge et Bleu for an amount of 90 million euros, bonus included.
Four months later, neither of the two attackers has really given satisfaction. Worse, according to The Team, Luis Enrique would no longer hide his doubts in private about the abilities of these players to be a solution in number 9, during very high level matches. In public, however, the Spanish technician takes a completely different view. “Kolo Muani was decisive in all the matches he played, like Ramos. He is a dynamic player who can play in several positions. I’m really happy with my number 9. Randal also has a great mentality”he declared last month, after PSG’s victory (3-0) against Montpellier.

If this information from the sports daily is confirmed, this would explain why Luis Enrique insists on having Kylian Mbappé play regularly as a center forward. During the group stages of the Champions League, Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos have only scored one goal between them.
