Taken by surprise by Carlo Ancelotti’s contract extension at Real Madrid, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) made a decision this Wednesday.

Two weeks ago, the CBF’s number one lead to take the reins of the Seleçao collapsed, leaving Brazil in disbelief and outrage.

Today, the new boss of the Auriverde selection was officially named, in the person of Dorival Junior, the coach of Sao Paulo FC, who succeeds Fernando Diniz.

The Brazilian press is talking about a contract running until the end of the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in the United States, Canada and Mexico. For now, in the midst of a crisis, the Seleçao is only sixth (out of ten) in the qualifiers for the next World Cup in the South American zone.
