Announced as a hot issue of the winter transfer window, Ivan Toney cooled everyone down. The English striker, who scored 21 goals in 35 matches last season, had been suspended since the start of the year for a sports betting affair. Returning from suspension for the second part of the season, the Brentford striker was announced in the sights of Arsenal and Chelsea for this winter transfer window.

Finally, the 27-year-old decided to swear loyalty to the Bees at the microphone of Sky Sports : “Everyone knows Brentford is a family club, they have been just amazing to me. I can never thank them enough, especially the supporters. They supported me from the first minute. It’s almost like I have a lot to give back. When I come back, I will have a big role to play in getting the team out of its bad streak. I can’t wait to be able to come back and help my teammates.” Good news for the London club which is sixteenth in the Premier League and is fighting to stay.
