It’s the end of a beautiful era. For more than ten years now, fans have closely followed the adventures of the Zidane siblings within Real Madrid. It all started with Enzo, now 28 years old, and without a club after having wandered all over Europe. If he has not necessarily had a brilliant career, the midfielder can at least boast of having already played in the Real Madrid first team and of having scored a goal on November 30, 2016, during a Copa del Rey match against Cultural Leonesa.
Next comes Luca, who has also already played with Real Madrid A and who currently plays for Eibar, in the Spanish second division. The 25-year-old goalkeeper is doing quite well and is one of the best in his position in the league, and everything indicates that he will have new opportunities to play in La Liga in the future, whether with his current club in in the event of a climb or with another stable. Comes Théo, who will be discussed later, then Elyaz, a defender capable of playing in the center and on one side. He is expected to leave Madrid in the coming days to join Betis.
The last survivor
As for Théo, things are going pretty well for him. The 21-year-old midfielder is a major player for Raul Gonzalez’s Real Madrid Castilla, and has even already been called up several times by Carlo Ancelotti for first-team matches. A start by the end of the season is therefore possible. An U20 international with the Blues, he will a priori be the last survivor of the Zidane siblings in Madrid.
Particularly tall (1m96), he can play almost anywhere in the midfield, and is more than gifted with the ball. According to observers, he is the player who most resembles his father in the way he plays. From there to imagining him having the same career, it’s complicated, obviously. But the Spanish media are convinced that he has a card to play in Madrid and that an opportunity will present itself sooner or later. Until then, he will have to carry this heavy burden of being the last Zidane at Real Madrid.
