This is a turning point in the history of Borussia Dortmund. The German club announced, via its X account, that its executive president Hans-Joachim Watzke would leave the ship in the fall of 2025, the end date of his contract. “The chairman of the board of directors of Borussia Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke (64), will not extend his contract, which runs until the end of 2025, and will leave the board of directors in the autumn of the year next.”
A turning point for the BVB and its leader, in office since February 11, 2005. He was previously treasurer of the club between 2001 and 2005. An emblematic figure of the club, Hans-Joachim Watzke is also a member of the UEFA council and vice-president of the German Football Association.
