Kylian Mbappé has set a deadline to decide his future at Paris Saint-Germain, which is giving the French club and Real Madrid a cold sweat.
Kylian Mbappe’s contract at PSG has entered its final six-month period, meaning he is free to negotiate with foreign clubs ahead of the summer transfer window. Speculation has therefore continued to mount over the prospect of the striker finally joining Real Madrid in Spain, as has long been planned, but now it appears he has set his own deadline. According to the Spanish daily Diario Sport, this would be a deadline in February, before the start of the round of 16 of the Champions League.
The player has previously stated that he has yet to make a decision on the rest of his career, although he has hinted at some sort of ‘deal’ with PSG over his future. He has, of course, been linked with Real before, but he chose to stay in France after a long saga in 2021.
His name is likely to remain in the rumor columns for some time to come. Real will hope that he will also be included in any stories regarding his future, although he will be disheartened by the fact that his supposed deadline arrives after the one he has apparently set for mid-January.
