Author of a hat-trick on Sunday evening, during PSG’s success against Revel (0-9), in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France, Kylian Mbappé became the top scorer in the club’s history in the competition.
Whether he stays next summer or not, Kylian Mbappé has left his mark on the history of Paris Saint-Germain. Already the club’s top scorer with 237 goals, the French prodigy has this time chosen to strike hard in the Coupe de France. On the occasion of his team’s trip to Castres to face US Revel in the 32nd finals of the competition, the Bondynois scored a hat-trick which helped give him the place as top scorer in the history of the PSG in the Coupe de France.
With 30 goals since he took part in this Cup with Paris, Kylian Mbappé is now the sole leader in the standings, now three units ahead of another former member of the Parisian house, François M’Pelé (27). Against Revel, the striker quickly took matters into his own hands and it was he who opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour of play. He then scored a second goal after a brilliant action with Marco Asensio and therefore validated his hat-trick just after returning from the locker room, again thanks to an offering from Asensio.
Still (quite) far from Platini
Scorer twice in the Coupe de France when he played for AS Monaco, Kylian Mbappé has a total of 32 goals, which places him fifth among the best scorers in the history of the competition. He is twelve points behind Michel Platini and Delio Onnis (44).
