Ronald Araujo’s situation at Barcelona will be one to watch during the summer transfer window.
The Uruguayan defender is attracting keen interest from Bayern Munich, who are ready to do everything possible to sign him before the start of next season. Araujo has already made it known to Bayern that he will not leave Barcelona this month, but it is possible a deal could be reached this summer. However, the Catalans have no intention of letting their best defender leave, whatever the circumstances.
Still, they might be forced to make a deal. Barcelona tried to offer Araujo a new contract following interest from Bayern, but Sky Germany claims the 24-year-old has no plans to enter into negotiations at present.
Bayern are ready to offer around 100 million euros to sign Araujo this summer, but it is hard to see FC Barcelona accepting such a sum, even despite their financial problems. It may take the player forcing the move for anything to happen, even if Araujo looks happy and settled in Catalonia.
