In search of a defensive midfielder, Olympique de Marseille is close to an agreement with former Lens player Jean Onana, who failed at Besiktas.
Things are finally moving towards Olympique de Marseille! After a rather calm start to the transfer window, a first recruit is approaching from La Canebière. This is Jean Onana, the Cameroonian midfielder from Besiktas.
The former Lensois arrived in Turkey this summer after a transfer for 4 million euros, but he hardly plays, and has just been sidelined. According to Fabrizio Romano, OM and Besiktas have reached an agreement for a loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy. All that remains is for OM to find common ground with the player.

OM needed a midfielder
With the injury of Valentin Rongier, and the departures of Pape Gueye, Azzedine Ounahi and Amine Harit at the CAN, Olympique de Marseille was looking for an additional midfielder, to replace Jordan Veretout and Geoffrey Kondogbia. The Phocaeans were close to an agreement with Lucien Agoumé, the Frenchman from Inter Milan, but the transfer collapsed in the last moments, and the latter went to Seville.
