A Ligue 1 club fell to the ground this Saturday during the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France, since Lorient was overthrown at Sochaux (2-1). Strasbourg did not tremble against Avoine Olympique Chinon Cinais (0-4).

No huge surprise this Saturday in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France, but a small one all the same since Lorient was knocked out by Sochaux, who are currently playing in National 1 (2-1). Already in difficulty in Ligue 1, the Merlus had nevertheless opened the scoring, but the will of the Cubs made the difference in the second period, with two goals scored, including one from the penalty spot in the final seconds of stoppage time.

In the other 6 p.m. matches, Strasbourg did not make any details against the promoted from National 2, Avoine Olympique Chinon Cinais. Patrick Vieira’s men took advantage of Gameiro’s opener (14th) and Dion’s double (17th, 73rd) to qualify for the round of 16 in the competition. A level that Bordeaux also reached, but qualification was particularly difficult to validate for the Girondins who had to go through a penalty shootout.

Saint-Omer came close to the feat

Montpellier is upholding its position on the pitch at Amiens (Ligue 2) by winning 1-2. And if the Picards stopped there, Dunkerque, another L2 club, managed to overcome the Saint-Omer obstacle, despite a crazy attempt at a comeback from the residents of Regional 1 who scored two goals in one minute in stoppage time of play. Unfortunately not enough for them (2-3).
