Real Madrid did not tremble to get rid of Arandina on Saturday, in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey (1-3). For its part, Betis was beaten on the Alaves pitch (1-0).

There was no photo this Saturday at the El Montecillo stadium in Aranda de Duero for the Copa del Rey round of 16 match between Arandina and Real Madrid. The Merengue defeated the Spanish fourth division club (1-3). And even if no goal was scored during the first act, it was Carlo Ancelotti’s men who totally dominated the proceedings. 78% possession in the first period, fourteen shots including seven on target, compared to just one off target for the locals. But no goal.

Everything finally settled in the second half with a converted penalty from Joselu (0-1, 54th), followed by the break goal scored a minute later by Diaz (0-2, 55th). Madrid’s third and final goal will be scored in stoppage time by Rodrygo (0-3, 90th+1), before Nacho scores against his side, to the delight of the local public (1-3, 90th+3 ).

Alaves qualified

A little earlier in the evening, Betis Sevilla were surprised at Alaves, another resident of the Spanish first division. A single goal during this opposition, the work of Benavidez, just before the hour mark (1-0, 57th). Enough to allow Alaves to emerge victorious from a balanced match.
