Pursued by injuries since joining Chelsea, Christopher Nkunku relapsed this week. His coach explained that he had injured his hip during training.

Return to the infirmary for Christopher Nkunku who has definitely had no luck since he left RB Leipzig to join Chelsea FC. The French international continues to get injured and he was once again physically affected this week. It was Mauricio Pochettino who confirmed this at a press conference on Saturday, and who above all gave details on the causes of the player’s absence and the exact nature of his injury.

The Argentine tactician indicated that his attacker injured his hip during training. Pochettino, on the other hand, was not much more talkative about the Frenchman’s case, particularly regarding the duration of his absence. For Christopher Nkunku, we will once again have to show patience, he who is starting to get used to it after a serious injury just before the 2022 World Cup (torn knee ligament), and again a relapse with an operation on his left knee last August.

Euro 2024 on the horizon

Back in mid-December, the improvement will not have lasted very long. This news is in any case not very reassuring for the Frenchman who still hopes that he will be back on his feet by the time Didier Deschamps announces his list for Euro 2024. If the deadline is still quite far away it will take everything just as Christopher Nkunku is finally freed from his physical problems to play regularly again.
