Davide Frattesi was overjoyed when he gave Inter Milan victory against Hellas Verona (2-1) in added time.
The year 2024 begins with a lot of emotions for Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri ended up winning against Hellas Verona (2-1) at Giuseppe-Meazza, after a completely crazy end to the match.
Inter had started well, with the 16th goal this season from Lautaro Martinez (13th), but Frenchman Thomas Henry equalized for the visitors, a few moments after coming into play (73rd).
Simone Inzaghi’s men were on course to concede a second draw in a row, after the one brought back from Genoa (1-1) at the end of December. But Davide Frattesi, with forceps, offered victory to his team in added time (90th + 4). Overjoyed, the former Sassuolo player ended up in his underwear, losing a little of his shorts during the celebration.

This victory is almost a miracle for Inter, because Thomas Henry missed the equalizing penalty at the end of added time, hitting the post (90th + 10).
In the standings, Inter thus ensures that they finish the first leg in first place, provisionally taking a five-point lead over Juventus, who will play on Sunday at Salernitana. Hellas Verona remains 17th.
