Seasoned Brazilian defender Thiago Silva could perhaps soon leave his London team.
Experienced Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has reportedly been offered a chance to play for his former club Fluminense.
Thiago Silva deep in thought
At 39 years old, “O Monstro” is still a regular player in the London team. He has played 100 matches in the English top flight for the Blues, and the club are hoping to extend him for another year.
However, the Mirror claims the Brazil international could be tempted by a move to Fluminense. The recent winner of the Copa Libertadores is currently pushing hard to attract this experienced full-back to his ranks.
Will Thiago Silva be tempted by this challenge? Nothing is less sure. Because if he has never hidden his attachment to “Flu”, the ex Parisian has also repeatedly said that he felt very good at Chelsea in the English championship.
“I never imagined that I would one day play in the Premier League, Silva recently told ESPN. It was a football that I didn’t like, with all due respect. Because I thought it was a lot of aerial balls, going up here, fighting there. I never really liked it, even though I’m good in the air and adapt well. I thought I wouldn’t play here.”
“I think one of the people responsible for this change is Pep Guardiola. He plays more. The others don’t try to copy, but they try to play more. Because it’s beautiful football to watch. From that moment on, I started to be interested in football. I watched more at home. The Chelsea offer came and I didn’t think twice.”.
