PSG will have to return a very substantial amount to Kylian Mbappé if he were to return to the Parc.

Kylian Mbappé will be at the end of his contract in five months. PSG wants him to extend. At least, that’s what we believed until then. In light of new revelations regarding the agreement reached between the two parties last summer, it would seem that this is not so certain.

PSG prays that Mbappé stays… or not

When he appeared before the media on Wednesday after the match against Toulouse, Mbappé indicated that “both camps are protected” and that there is no reason to worry about the decision he will take for the rest of his journey. The French international was not bluffing on this point. He and Nasser Al-Khelaifi have in fact reached an agreement so that his departure, if there is a departure, will not be too penalizing for Paris.

The former Monegasque sacrificed his various bonuses to be able to move towards the end of his lease calmly and without having constant pressure on his shoulders to decide as quickly as possible. But what will happen to this loot if he ever decides to extend? According to RMC Sport, this will be returned to him.

The Parisian management will have to pay 80 million to its star player in the event that the latter signs a new lease. An amount that is far from insignificant and which will undoubtedly have an impact on the club’s finances. To this sum will also be added a new salary, which should not be lower than the previous one.

On the other hand, in the event of divorce, Mbappé will receive almost nothing. Paris will save the amount in question. Which, in a way, will compensate for the shortfall that could have been recorded with a sale. Of course, the envelope saved will not be up to the 200 million euros, hoped for for a while by the Ile-de-France board, but it remains significant.
