After a very disappointing first part of the season, Stade Rennais should be very active this winter.

In Brittany, what should be the season of confirmation has become one of disillusionment for Stade Rennais. Stuck in tenth place in the rankings League 1, Julien Stéphan’s team did not meet expectations in this first leg. Far from its initial objectives, Stade Rennais is approaching the winter transfer window as a corrective market to adjust a workforce that is too heterogeneous.

While several significant sales could be recorded, one sector was deemed a priority: defense. Too fragile behind, Stade Rennais is looking for an element capable of providing rapid added value. And with this in mind, one name would emerge: Alidu Seidu.

According to information from L’Équipe and Ouest-France, the current Clermont defender would be in Florian Maurice’s sights for this winter window. At the age of 23, the Ghanaian international presents valuable versatility since he is capable of playing in the center, but also on the right side, in a four or five-man defense. The only immediate obstacle would be his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana. The defender’s value is estimated at 10 million euros.
