Raphaël Varane is not the only Manchester United player targeted by Real Madrid for their defense.
Raphaël Varane is likely to return to Madrid during the winter transfer window. Real are thinking of him as reinforcement for their rearguard. And it turns out that the former French international targeted by the Merengue for their rearguard. There would also be interest in Swede Victor Lindelof.
Real still hesitates
Real are short of defensive options with the unavailability of Eder Militao and David Alaba, both suffering from anterior cruciate ligament injuries. According to The Athleticthe Madrid leaders are therefore eyeing Lindelöf, Varane and also Raul Albiol, a former member of the house, as potential recruits this winter.
Varane and Lindelof are no longer popular in the eyes of Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford. The Frenchman has only started 11 times since the start of the season and the Swede 14. If there is a good offer for them, the English club will certainly not oppose their departures.
The arrival of a defender at the Bernabeu is not, however, completely certain. Real manager Carlo Ancelotti said this week: “We will not sign another central defender. We have players like (Aurélien) Tchouameni who can cover this position.” The solid performance of his team against Mallorca (1-0) on Wednesday evening tends to prove him right.
