A stronghold of French football, Olympique Lyonnais was able to go through some hectic hours behind the scenes. Including in the great moments of the club’s history.

The time when theOlympique Lyonnais stacked titles like pearls while hovering over Ligue 1 seems so distant. Stuck at the bottom of the table, the Rhone club must today fight to maintain its place in the elite… And yet, friction has always animated the locker room, even in the club’s heyday.

Big clash between these 2 OL stars

Former emblematic OL midfielder, Vikash Dhorasoo recalled for L’Équipe a clash which pitted him against the iconic Gones goalkeeper, Grégory Coupet. Asked by the daily about “ the fights that had marked him“, the 2006 world vice-champion delivered a juicy anecdote.

“For me, it’s with (Grégory) Coupet, but you will only have my version! It was at half-time of a Champions League match, he was reproaching me for things and he jumped on me because I had to tell him that he wasn’t the coach, Dhorasoo explained.. After this collision, he decided to no longer dive in training when I was shooting and I realized this quite late. For a while, I even thought I had become good in front of goal! ».

This episode was not without consequences since it pushed Dhorasoo towards the exit, before things returned to normal… “ I went on loan to Bordeaux because of that. When I returned, Paul Le Guen made sure it went well. At Sochaux, I saved a goal from a corner and we high-fived. It was gone again“, concluded Dhorasoo.
