Florian Thauvin is preparing to make his comeback in Ligue 1, and it is not at Olympique de Marseille.
Two and a half years after leaving it, Florian Thauvin has a good chance of returning to French Ligue 1 during this winter transfer window. However, a return to his former club OM is unlikely.
Thauvin attracted to Brittany
The 2018 world champion previously refused to play for another French club than Marseille, but he is now inclined to take the plunge. In difficulty at Udinese (only 3 goals scored in 17 matches), he is even willing to significantly lower his salary to get back on track in his country.
According to the media Le Foot, his most likely destination is Stade Rennais. Anxious to turn things around during the second part of the season, the Bretons want sure values in attack. And Thauvin embodies an interesting opportunity, especially since it will only cost them €2M maximum.
Thauvin, for his part, is more than delighted at the idea of joining the Rouge et Noir. Especially since this would allow him to return to the European Cup. SRFC is engaged in the Europa League play-offs, where it will face AC Milan.
Note, however, that Lille is also in the mix. Although having been humiliated by this player in 2013, the Mastiffs would be ready to return to the charge.
