At 30, Romelu Lukaku has had an eventful career. Sparkling with Everton, Inter Milan and at times at Chelsea, the Belgian has moved around a lot since his debut at Anderlecht in 2009 (seven different clubs) including returns to his former teams. The AS Roma striker is back in shape and is currently on the podium of top scorers in Serie A. Loaned until next summer in the transalpine capital, the Antwerp native will then return to Chelsea. But will he stay in London while the Blues have been undergoing a facelift for almost two years. So what does the future hold for the man with 83 goals in 113 caps with the Red Devils?

The Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport indicates that Romelu Lukaku could return to where it all began, at Anderlecht in Belgium, but not as a player. While his career is not over, the Belgian club would like to make him the new head of the youth academy. Indeed, Jean Kindermans, head of the youth sector since 2006, would have liked Lukaku to take over from him. His deputy, Kevin Vermeulen, also invited the 30-year-old to take on this role, Radio Radzinski. “I hope that one day Lukaku will return to Anderlecht. He has lived the Purple Talents project from the start and knows this world well”. It remains to be seen whether this return will take place, and this summer.
