Loaned until the end of the season to Manchester United, Sergio Reguilon will finally return to Tottenham this winter.
7th in the Premier League with nine defeats already in the Premier League, Manchester United is going through a very delicate new season. Ineffective collectively, the Mancunian players are almost all struggling from an individual point of view.
Reguilon returns to Tottenham
This is particularly the case of Sergio Reguilon. Eager to get back on track after an unsuccessful loan to Atlético Madrid, the left back was once again loaned by Tottenham. But with the Red Devils, the Spaniard never really established himself and only played 12 matches (7 starts), insufficient to convince Erik Ten Hag.
🚨 EXCL: Sergio Reguilon is joining Tottenham Hotspur from Manchester United. Season-long loan included break clause for left-back to return in January & #MUFC have activated that option (always minded to do so). 27yo played 12 games @TheAthleticFC #THFC https://t.co/vOsC8tmGlO

So much so that Man Utd decided to get rid of him. Initially loaned until the end of the season, Reguilon will return to Tottenham this winter since his loan was “broken” via a break clause, as indicated The Athletic this Tuesday. It remains to be seen whether Spurs will want to keep him, he who can still be loaned to another club during the winter transfer window.
