Algeria: Stade Rennais responds to Belmadi for Gouiri

Following criticism from Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi, Stade Rennais provided details regarding Amine Gouiri’s package for CAN 2024.

End of the controversy? Dissatisfied with having learned late of the knee injury of Amine Gouiri, who had to give up participating in his very first African Cup of Nations with Algeria, Djamel Belmadi had criticized Stade Rennais for its lack of transparency in this case. An outing to which the Breton club was keen to respond.

“Following the speech of the Algerian coach, Stade Rennais FC would like to clarify that all information relating to the health of Amine Gouiri was transmitted in due time to his selection so that the latter can make a decision regarding to its participation in CAN 2024“ indicates the Breton club in a press release.
