The 20-year-old defender, trained in Sao Paulo, arrives at the Parc des Princes this winter and will want to become a major asset for a Parisian defense that is far from being calm yet this season. Arrived for more than 20 million euros and under contract for the next five seasons with Paris, the left-hander is therefore also an investment of high esteem for the Parisian leaders.
However, a transfer of this magnitude very early in a career would be enough to turn more than one head. An arrival with a European big name of which the Brazilian U20 international still does not seem to have realized, as he confided during his first interview with the club media. From his first statements, Lucas Beraldo therefore seems hungry for titles under the Parisian tunic. I feel very well prepared. I spoke to the coach before and he also gave me a lot of confidence, and I think that was important for me. It’s a good thing to have Marquinhos as a central defense partner. I also think it can help me a lot because he speaks the same language as me. This is a big step forward in my career. I think so, I had already given interviews in Brazil to say that I dreamed of playing alongside him. I imagined playing with him for the Brazilian national team, but God gave me the opportunity to play alongside him every day at Paris Saint-Germain. I think that weighed heavily in my choice. I really identified with his style of play, the fact that he offers play and that he always keeps the ball. That’s how I like to play, that’s how I have fun and enjoy myself on the pitch.
