Hugo Lloris has found a surprising new club to relaunch his career.

Former Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris is in advanced talks to join Major League Soccer (MLS) club Los Angeles FC on a permanent deal, which would end his 11-year stay at the club, according to AFP. Lloris, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has remained on the sidelines since the appointment of Ange Postecoglou in the summer and, as things stand, his final game for Spurs is expected to be the 6-1 humiliation at Newcastle under Cristian Stellini in April.

Postecoglou used summer signing Guglielmo Vicario as first goalkeeper and Fraser Forster as second goalkeeper, although Lloris continued to train with the first team. Lloris, 37, refused to leave Spurs this summer, spurning offers from Saudi Arabia, Lazio and his hometown club Nice.

The goalkeeper, who captained France at the 2018 World Cup, made nearly 450 appearances for Spurs and was named club captain from 2015, until Postecoglou handed the armband to Heung-min Son at start of this season.
