An Opta supercomputer has predicted the rest of the European season, betting on which teams will win titles this year.
The supercomputer, in agreement with BetMGM, has predicted that England captain Harry Kane will finally lift the first trophy of his career by helping Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga title, against Bayer Leverkusen, the team’s most in form since the start of the season. He also predicted that Jude Bellingham would lead Real Madrid to the La Liga title, while Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan would win the Ligue 1 and Serie A crowns respectively.
The surprise wave comes from the predictions concerning the Premier League: Manchester City should win their fourth consecutive title, although they currently occupy fourth place in the championship after a far from optimal start to the season. Predictions also predict that Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have a 65.82% chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
When it comes to European competitions, the supercomputer predicted that the Premier League would do a treble on the continent. Manchester City have a 30% chance of winning the Champions League, while Liverpool (30.13%) and Aston Villa (33.78%) are on course to advance to the Europa League and Conference League respectively. Pep Guardiola’s side are predicted to be on course to win their second consecutive treble, a feat never before achieved in world football.
