Former well-known L1 striker, Kaba Diawara serves as coach of Guinea and must face a strange accusation.

A strange story revealed by the Guinean press these days. While the selection of Syli National has fallen for the African Cup of Nations, there is one absence that the media immediately highlighted: that of Morlaye Sylla (25 caps, three goals). And for good reason…

Since June 17 and a friendly match in Catalonia against Brazil, the young midfielder who plays for Arouca, in the Portuguese first division, has accused his coach Kaba Diawara of having stolen the jersey that Auriverde striker Vinicius Jr gave him at the end of the match. Allegations which did not fail to generate tension in the Guinean locker room.

No international retirement

According to the national press, Morlaye Sylla, not selected for the CAN, pays for his disagreement with Kaba Diawara. However, the person concerned has participated in three international matches since this incident, against Ethiopia, Egypt and Malawi, even if he has not been called up since September. In an interview given to the Africa Guinea media, the player concerned maintains vagueness but assures that he has not retired internationally as he was able to read recently on social networks.
