Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the fitness of his star player, Kevin De Bruyne.

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has indicated that Kevin De Bruyne could be back on the pitch next week. Good news for the Sky Blues ahead of the second part of the season.

Guardiola remains cautious with De Bruyne

De Bruyne has been out since August with a hamstring injury. He therefore remained immobilized for 138 days.

Before facing Sheffield United this weekend, Guardiola said: “Kevin is close, but he was tired yesterday and we have to be careful. If you don’t manage the timing well, you risk injuring yourself again. It’s important to keep him fit for a long period of time, not for one match or another.”

Regarding the return of Erling Haaland, who suffered a foot injury, the manager added: “He (Haaland) is training alone and improving, the question is when the pain will go away. He’s not skinny like Phil Foden, he’s huge and tall, so it’s harder sometimes.”. Unless there is a surprise, the Norwegian will not be present against the Blades and will therefore not be able to prevent Cristiano Ronaldo from finishing as best director of the calendar year.
