Carlo Ancelotti will still be on the Real Madrid bench for the next few months. Despite persistent rumors during the year 2023 which sent him to Brazil to take over a Seleção adrift, the Italian technician remains in Spain. At the end of his contract next June, he has just extended it by two years, until 2026. He will then be 67 years old but has never seemed as fit as at the moment and in tune with his locker room despite a difference in certain generation.

An announcement which therefore puts an end to all the rumors. Returning to business in the summer of 2021, Ancelotti is enjoying a very successful second stint in the Spanish capital for the moment, between new success in the Champions League (2022), a La Liga (2022) and a Copa del Rey (2023), without forgetting two new titles in the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
Two more years for Ancelotti
Enough to make his detractors lie, even if there are not very many of them. Before returning to Real Madrid, the former midfielder seemed to be on the downward slope. After a failure at Bayern Munich, he came out of two experiences at Naples and Everton, two less prestigious clubs. Yet it was him that Florentino Pérez called back to succeed Zinedine Zidane a little over two years ago, and restore some calm to the club.
